Some of my earliest memories are of me being active.
I took to anything and everything involving motion as soon as I could. My real passion came when I started wrestling at the age of 6, and for the next 16 years, that was my life. I have traveled all over the country for tournaments, camps, and soaked up every bit of knowledge I could to excel in my wrestling career. One primary key was going to the gym either before or after practice, at times both.
Growing up in Colorado Springs and peaking so early in my career granted me access to the Olympic Training Center. Which is where learned how important Olympic lifting and mobility work is to obtaining one's athletic goals. Due to my increased strength and speed from lifting and training, I had the privilege of training with athletes either stronger or more experienced than myself. In high school, I went to state all four years, but injuries prevented me from capitalizing on the opportunity.
Before college, yet another injury hit me, and it would later make me unfit to wrestle at Oregon State University, where I attempted to walk on. Wrestling gave me a glimpse of the best physical fitness I have ever experienced, and I have been chasing higher levels of fitness ever since. Oregon State introduced me to partner stunting, and that started a new passion and yet another new and different level of fitness.
“Cheerleading” has been one of the best experiences of my life. First at Oregon State and now stunting for the Portland Trailblazers. I went into stunting strong, but the strength needed for this sport was utterly different than anything I had known previously
